About the Event

Pregnancy is a profound rite of passage in a woman’s life, and it is a privilege to support women’s yoga practice during this special time of their lives. Mothers experience unique physical and emotional transformations during pregnancy, birth and post-birth, and therefore require specialised yoga instruction. This 85-hour Yoga Alliance recognised program offers participants fundamental skills to teach safe and effective prenatal, postnatal, and parent & baby yoga classes. It also covers the instruction of active birth workshops. Graduates of this teacher training course will be adequately equipped with yoga teaching techniques to help women improve their pregnancy experience, prepare for birth and recover post-birth. This teacher training is suitable for yoga teachers, aspiring yoga teachers, pregnant women, midwives, doulas and anyone interested in yoga during and after pregnancy. It will provide participants with a 85-hour specialisation in pregnancy yoga, however in order to teach pregnancy yoga after the course it is expected that the trainee is already a registered yoga teacher. The training will be taught in English mainly, while Sanskrit terminology will also be used to honour the traditions of yoga. Participants who have successfully completed this course may apply for Registered Pre-natal Yoga Teacher (RPYT) with Yoga Alliance after fulfilling 30 hours of pregnancy teaching and completing all required assignments.
